DOG LOCATION: Cambridge, ON. Meet SPIN’s silly standard poodle named Cooper! What a great dog. Cooper is 4 years old and is just about perfect. If you are looking for a family dog, Cooper is your boy. Cooper prefers a home where he will be the apple of your eye. We had him in foster homes with another dog, but he just didn’t settle. He loves people. LOVES them. When he sees another dog he gets quite energized and excitable and this excitement isn't always appreciated by other dogs he meets. Meetings with another dog should be closely monitored and conducted on neutral grounds. This means he isn't going to be a dog you can take to your local dog park. We're requesting his adoptive family have a fenced in yard for Cooper to enjoy so that he can run and play freely and enjoy the life his joyful spirit was meant for. 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE COOPER: Energetic, excitable, anxious WHAT KIND OF HOUSE CAN HE LIVE IN?; He'd be happiest in a rural or very quiet suburban setting DOES HE NEED A FENCED YARD?: Yes, with possible exception of some rural settings. IS HE GOOD WITH KIDS?: Yes, with children 14 and older. His physical nature and tendency to jump up to say 'hi' mean he's not a good match for the young, elderly or anyone with stability challenges. IS HE GOOD WITH DOGS?: No, his behaviour can be too unpredictable to share his home with other animals or to be a dog park dog POST-ADOPTION TRAINING SHOULD FOCUS ON: Managing his excitement, anxiety and reactivity If you would like more information about Cooper, please email standardpoodlesinneed@gmail.com
